**UPDATE**

We met with the County Planning staff on Wednesday November 4th. Our appeal is slated to be heard by the Board of Supervisors on December 9th. The Valle de Oro Community Planning Group is also appealing the Planning Commissions decision to allow Literacy First Charter Schools, LLC to build a high school on the corner of Chase Avenue and Jamacha. We are scheduling meetings with the Supervisors Land Use Staff to present all the facts why this school should not be built on the proposed site.

We are about to launch our website. The website will be another hub of information for the community and will be helpful in coordinating with our members and new partners. Further information concerning the format of the Supervisor’s Hearing and what we can do make our voices heard will be forthcoming. Make no mistake, we at SOS2 are committed to the safety and well being of our community and will make our voices heard and pursue every avenue available to us at the Supervisors hearing and beyond. We have formed several action committees and will be reaching out to all of you to help out. Make no mistake, we will investigate and present all the evidence that building this school on this site is a huge mistake by the County. Get involved, stay tuned in, as the timeline will accelerate as December 9th draws closer. We will publish all pertinent dates and deadlines. Again, thank you for all your support.

HELP YOUR COMMUNITY STOP THE BUILDING OF A HIGH SCHOOL
AT THE INTERSECTION OF JAMACHA ROAD AND CHASE AVENUE

During the December 9th County Board of Supervisor's meeting , Dianne Jacob implored the other Supervisors to deny the issuance of a permit and commented that placing a school at this location would "create a very dangerous situation that will be jeopardizing the safety of the traveling public...this project will make an already bad situation worse".

If this project proceeds, the traffic and safety issues it will create will severely and negatively impact our community for generations. Because we are serious about protecting our community from the resulting traffic and safety issues, our only option at this point is to go to Court to ask a Judge to uphold the laws which the County has refused to comply and prevent the County from permitting the building of the high school. To do so WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW.

Please support our efforts to protect our community and the safety of its families by donating to SOS2's litigation fund. To get started we need to raise funds to cover initial court costs, expert fees and other litigation costs.

Please note, our attorney has agreed to defer certain profession fees to help our funding go further.

THE SAFETY OF OUR COMMUNITY DESERVES OUR BEST EFFORTS SO PLEASE HELP BY DONATING  TODAY!
